We’re excited to share that redevelopment is now underway at our Fitzpatrick and Prattville residences! Staying connected with our residents and surrounding neighborhoods is a top priority, and this website will serve as a key hub for updates, information, and community engagement throughout the process.

Prattville Apartments
Prattville Apartments, known locally as "The Brickies," were originally built to replace the Fitzpatrick Apartments. This residential complex comprises a total of 128 apartments. Within its two large, three-story brick buildings, you'll find 77 two-bedroom apartments and 51 three-bedroom units, offering various living space configurations. Situated along Burma Road, Exeter Street, and Guam Road, this development was completed in 1951, following initial construction in 1950. The Prattville Apartments sit on over 10 acres of land along the tail end of Chelsea Creek and adjacent to Rt 1 and Rt 16.
Fitzpatrick Apartments
Fitzpatrick Apartments, also known as "The Woodies," is a state-aided family housing development originally constructed in 1949 to accommodate returning veterans. Located at Burma, Normandy, and Saipan Roads, along with Exeter Street and Revere Beach Parkway, this complex comprises 12 two-story townhouse structures. It features a total of 70 units—42 two-bedroom and 28 three-bedroom apartments. The wood-framed buildings were designed in a townhouse style, and offered comfortable living spaces across its two-story layout.
The Fitzpatrick Apartments were originally built to be temporary five-year housing units but the high demand for housing kept them in operation. Both sites have many physical issues impacting resident quality of life which are beyond the ability of the CHA to address with its capital fund program. We are striving to create new housing units that will give our residents a quality place to live.
